A little more than a year ago I did a Target promo for BNS. The pitch ended up being replaced by another idea. Anyhow, the pitch was to promote Target's Grocery section, which i have yet to see...

Sydney Peabody! The main character for my comic book which ANYONE has yet to see. hahahaha.

Her design is almost final. Also did some versions of Caleb, who will be important to Sydney.

For the past couple of months I've been working on an animated short for a small company. Still a lot to do! The Short will probably be coming out either toward the end of this year or the beginning of next. sooo... look forward to it!

Characters are so fun to draw... I find that its much easier to come up with characters when I'm listening to music or watching a movie. Not really good with creating characters with "strong" personalities or having a believable pose... but I'll work on it!

Here are some printmaking pieces I did this term. The Twits is a children's book that I based my senior project on. I just thought that the story was "colorful" enough to inspire a knockoff, hahahaa.
Also I silkscreened my business cards, so pick em up cuz they're limited prints done by HANDS, many many HANDS.

And the comic book development continues! Putting this in (creative) perspective was challenging. Thinking about building it in Sketch Up...

Block base off of the movie "Guys and Dolls", set in the 1950s Time Square. This is probably the most challenging project yet and maybe the most time spent on one project... Never had to deal with a really lit night scene until this! It is still unfinished but this will have to do for now since I am about to apply for internship.

The set up for the comic book continues... These are the rooms that the main actions will be taking place. The hole in the living room is where the kitchen will fit. The next two weeks I will be finishing up my story ( in written form? maybe), and I will also start the first visual development/scene.

This term i got to do what i always wanted to do: a comic book! Creating a comic was a lot more work than i thought, but still exciting. The basic plot is about a babysitter... and sleepwalking kids. I probably won't be able to start on my first couple of pages until somewhere around the end of the term. =/

It's been a long time since I update the blog, umph. The five character drawings are for James and the Giant Peach. The top one was first a ink drawing and then cleaned up in photoshop. The drawing was based off of Aubrey Beardsley and Josh Cochran. It's not yet finished so the influence might be more obvious once I'm done.
